LYNX: THIRD INNING A KILLER

The classic "one bad inning" -- a five-run third highlight by Brandon Moss' three-run homer with two out -- sunk Eude Brito and the Lynx in today's 6-3 loss (boxscore, play-by-play) to the Paw Sox.

The Lynx (27-32) are stuck in that win-one, lose-one phase, where it feels like it's getting less likely by the day that this team has the potential for a run at the division leader, even though they. Pawtucket's Craig Breslow nearly blew a four-run lead in the seventh, loading the bases with none out and wild-pitching in a run, but he struck out the top of the Lynx order, Chris Roberson, Joe Thurston and Jason Jaramillo. That was the game right there. It feel likes it's getting less likely by the day that this ballclub has a run in them, even though they will be no worse than 5 1/2 games out of first place when they wake up tomorrow.

Shortstop Danny Sandoval deserves a a hat tip -- he's a three three-hit games this week and is 11 for his last 22. He's also filled in at third base when needed, since Brennan King is on the DL. Meantime, J.D. Durbin (2-4, 5.13, 1.56 WHIP) faces Paw Sox lefty Abe Alvarez (4-4, 4.89, 1.41 WHIP) tomorrow at 7:05.
