As you wondered who's got the stones to bring home the bacon...
Sens 2 Pens 1 (Ottawa leads 3-1): Time was, when the Sens were tied in a low-scoring game through two periods, everyone in Ottawa would wonder what was about to go wrong. Not these days.
Rangers 7 Thrashers 0 (New York leads 3-0): Explain how Bob Hartley should still have a head coaching position next year, unless he's got a son he wants to coach in the Central Junior A League.
Flames 3 Red Wings 2 (Detroit leads 2-1): Like Stockwell Day, the Flames are a lot bigger when they get back to Alberta. Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Holmstrom went back to making not much of a dent on the scoresheet. Oh, and feel free to make sport of the fact Todd Bertuzzi got back in Detroit's lineup and they dropped a game after being lights-out in the first two without him. This is going 7 games, but if it doesn't, zap yourself with the amnesia ray.
Canucks 2 Stars 1 (Vancouver leads 3-1): Vancouver's catching the breaks -- two overtime wins and Willie Mitchell sweeping the puck off the line in the final minutes last night. It really doesn't feel like Dallas is done; they'll be back for Game 6. Quoth Mirtle: "Whoever wins out in that Canucks/Stars match-up is toast come Round 2. Just a feeling."
Wild 4 Ducks 1 (Anaheim leads 3-1): Well, we kind of knew it flattered Anaheim a little to be up three-zip. Brian Rolston got the clincher for the Wild moments after Chris Pronger whistled a shot about six inches wide of the net; a dodgy penalty to Kris Huskins set up the go-ahead power-play goal.
That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.

If I'm the Canucks, I'm feeling pretty good about a potential match-up against Anaheim. The Ducks are one of those teams who got a lot of their points via OT and shootout wins, and as a result I think their regular season record is a bit inflated. (Well, even more inflated than the already inflated standings we see.) The Sharks and Red Wings would be tougher second round draws, IMO.
The Ducks were 39-20 in games decided in regulation, the Canucks were 32-26. Vancouver's got more to worry about there, although that assumes reg.-season records even matter at this point.
