LYNX: MAZONE ON HIS GAME IN LOSS

Tough one for the Lynx again in a 2-1 loss (box, game log) to Buffalo: Brian Mazone, from the looks of it, had a good outing, six hits over seven innings, but Buffalo's Keith Ginter and Ryan Mulhern tagged him for solo homers. It happens when you throw strikes. Sometimes you lose since your pitches get hit.

The Lynx had the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the ninth, but first baseman Shaun Larkin started a game-ending 3-6-3 double play to bail out Buffalo closer Edward Mujica. The Lynx have Friday the 13th off before playing a four-game set in Syracuse (Sunday's a doubleheader).

By the way, for Tuesday's opener, the first pitch will be thrown
by 10-year-old Sam Muise, a brain tumor survivor and baseball nut. Just throw strikes, Sam.
