- Did they really try to have Juan Dixon try to guard Tracy McGrady for a bit there? Dixon -- giving up five inches, 50 lbs., and untold amounts of wingspan and athleticism -- tried his darnedest to stay with T-Mac. Then again, so would everyone on a high school junior boys team and they would have fared about as well. Seriously, a NBA coach put Juan Dixon on Tracy McGrady. No way Marc Iavoroni will do that... sorry, would do that.
- Chris Bosh is taking face-up jumpers from 15-18 ft. where three weeks ago he would have gone baseline and dunked on his man's head; it's like he's trying to take pains not to wear down late in the year. On the season, Bosh's playing time is down a minute and half per game from last year, so it seems the Raptors are aware of this. He played only 32 minutes since it was a one-sided game much of the way. Good on backup Kris Humphries for putting up 16 points.
- A 40-point second quarter and a 12-point third on the same night? Well, it was a night when Philly beat Phoenix, so maybe there was an ionic disturbance.
- Or maybe not, since T.J. Ford seemed like the only guy who could stop the Raptors offence on this night. Posters at RaptorBlog Forums have dubbed Ford "Me-Jay."
- Sixty-one points from the bench players on a night when Morris Peterson started due to Anthony Parker's injured ankle. How about Bryan Colangelo for NBA Executive of the Year?
- Cool Standings projects the Raptors for 46.4 "expected wins," compared to 44.6 for the current No. 3 seed in the East, Washington. The Raptors have two road games vs. Washington this month.
- ESPN.com's main story is on its NBA page yesterday was about former Raptor Charlie V's work with kids who are living with alopecia, the condition which has caused his total hair loss.
That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
