CIS CORNER: GEE-GEES RISING

The CIS basketball coaches' poll just came out -- the Carleton Ravens are down one spot to No. 4, while the Ottawa Gee-Gees move up two rungs to No. 6 in the wake of their win over their rival last weekend.

CIS Hoops.ca has the Ravens and Gee-Gees at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. In the Cheers RPI at Bob Adams CIS Sports Page, the Ravens remain No. 1 (their RPI is .006 ahead of the Concordia Stingers), with Ottawa No. 4.

Ideally, Saturday's OUA East semis wouldn't be played at the same time. That said, the Gee-Gees and Ravens have their games going on at the same time all year long, and that seems to work out for everybody. It would make a heck of a liveblog if there was some way yours truly could hit both matches.

The Ravens will draw the lowest urviving seed from tomorrow's Toronto-Laurentian and Queen's-York quarters; the Gee-Gees get the top-seeded survivor.
