Ducks 4 Stars 1: Poolies already thinking ahead to next year might want to file this away: What is Corey Perry (top picture) going to do when he learns to play some defence and earns a regular shift? He has four goals in Anaheim's past three games (including two last night) while playing just 12 minutes 10 seconds, 9:50 and 9:35. He had a three-point night last week while seeing the ice for just 10:46.
Here's the NHL's most productive players out of guys who average 10-12 minutes.
- Perry, Ana (25 points, 10:39 average time on ice)
- Chris Simon, NYI (17, 10:56)
- Georges Laraque, Pho. (16, 10:39)
- Glen Metropolit, Atl. (16, 10:22)
- Tom Kotsopoulos, LA (13, 10:17)

Perry's notched 13 of his 25 points on the power play. If you're wondering where Nashville's Alexander Radulov is, he does have 13 points in just 20 games, but he's averaging only 9:47 of ice time.
Red Wings 5 Blue Jackets 0: Never bet against Dominik Hasek when he's been pulled in his previous start. Lesson learned.Predators 2 Blackhawks 1: Chris Mason (bottom picture) isn't supposed to be consistent enough to be a No. 1 goalie, but he's won five straight starts while Tomas Vokoun waits for his injured left thumb to heal.
NHL Scoreboard

(By the way, a happy 60th birthday to my friend and former colleague at the Simcoe Reformer, Christopher J. Thomas. Chris played some goal himself in his native Delhi, Ont., back in the day. I wrote a retirement tribute back in September.)
That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
