'CUSE PHENOM HAS ROUGH NIGHT
After watching a highlights package from last weekend's loss to Wichita State, It's not hard to see why Syracuse Orange fans are buzzing about freshman guard Paul Harris (check out the dunk from the foul line makes around the 1:48 mark). Harris had a rough go in last night's 72-68 loss to Oklahoma State.
Syracuse is 7-2 but has now lost to the first two ranked teams they've played. That's bad, but somewhat expected after Gerry McNamara, who'd been the point guard for seemingly about a decade.
It's rare to see a post here on college hoops before late February, let alone the new year, but with Harris' potential, attention must be paid.
As explained before, yours truly is a fan of The 'Cuse, mostly due to geographical convenience -- SU is the only major NCAA school close to Kingston, so a lot of people in Eastern Ontario cheer for them in college basketball. Last weekend, I was in a bar in a city down there and actually had someone try to buy my Syracuse hoodie off me. I politely declined.
