CIS CORNER: GOOD ON THE NB

Found this while poring over U.S. College Hockey Online a few minutes ago.

For all of you who wonder about the competitiveness of Canadian university hockey, the No. 3 teams in both the NCAA and CIS played an exhibition game last night -- and the Maine Black Bears needed overtime to beat the visiting New Brunswick Varsity Reds 3-2.

UNB, who has former Owen Sound Attack goalie Michael Ouzo in goal, outshot Paul Kariya's alma mater 29-21. By the way, good on the NB for having three nationally ranked teams, the most of any province — the Moncton Aigles Bleus are No. 1 and the St. Thomas Tommies are No. 10.
