SHORT SUNDAY AFTERNOON STUFF

From here, to right over there...
  • This'll give the anti-Michael Vick crew some ammo: M. Vick ran for 127 yards in the first half -- a NFL record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in one half and tied for the third-most by the QB in game -- and his Atlanta Falcons are down two touchdowns to the New Orleans Saints, 21-6. Vick has had two red-zone drives end with field goals.
  • Brent Musburger, with about 11 minutes left in last night's USC-Notre Dame "contest" and the Irish down 31-17. "The score is somewhat misleading. Notre Dame is only two touchdowns away." (Italics mine.) The Irish went backwards 10 yards on the next series, punted, and USC needed just two plays to score a game-icing TD.
  • Yes, Dennis Green is back in Minnesota, and the Vikings gave up a touchdown to the Arizona Cardinals on the opening kickoff. The Vikes are up 14-13 early in the third, but I don't want to talk about it.
  • This can only happen to the Raptors: The scorekeepers shorted them by two points in Friday night's loss to the Atlanta Hawks. It's hard to believe that could happen in the NBA. Suppose the Raptors miss the playoffs by one game. Should it be replayed then?

That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
