HOCKEY LAST NIGHT: RAYCROFT'S RETURN

So that's why you hardly ever saw any black people on Seinfeld!

Leafs 4 Islanders 2: One good period, a three-goal first, was enough for the Leafs to win in Andrew Raycroft's first game back from injury.

Hey, the Leafs did at least win with Wade Belak on defence, a move made to get Alexander Suglobov in the lineup up front. Eep.

Senators 5 Wild 3:OK, so no one in Ottawa is getting fired, at least not for another week. And Ray Emery showed he probably should be The Man after stopping 42 shots to ward off a wild Wild comeback.

Sabres 7 Lightning 2: The only Sabres forwards who didn't get a point during that seven-goal second were Daniel Brière, Jochen Hecht and Jason Pominville. Guys, you really gotta pick up your game... hey, wait, that's Buffalo's first line.

Stars 5 Avs 4: A comeback win for Dallas turned out to be a pretty good game for Versus to debut the Steadicam, which is suspended on a wire just above ice level and does give viewers a whole new perspective on hockey's grace and speed. Next on the agenda: Versus getting actual viewers.

Oh, as for the game, good on Dallas for coming back from an early 2-0 deficit. Brenden Morrow, though, who scored their first two goals, came out with a groin injury.

Elsewhere: Panthers 3 Bruins 2, Predators 3 Blue Jackets 1, Penguins 5 Flyers 3

Tonight's big game: Flames vs. Oilers, 9 p.m. ET/7 p.m. MT

That's all for now. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.
