THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

I can ride your heart 'till it breaks. / Ooh, I got what it takes.

Not to be too naval-gazey, but yours truly must express gratitude to Dave P. of SportsBlogging.net, who has selected Out of Left Field as Sports Blog of the Week for Oct. 16-22.

So between that, Rogers Sportsnet's Ian Mendes graciously extending an opportunity to pen a piece for sportsnet.ca last week and the Toronto Star's Chris Young linking here twice this week, the work that myself and Neil Acharya do here is being noticed. We're also obliged to Dan Pawliw of the Queen's Football Club, who has included some of our articles in his weekly e-newsletter, along with fellow bloggers who have offered to trade links over the past several weeks. Of course, you can't forget the community at cisfootball.org who not only click through when I post links there, but leave supportive comments.

Will Leitch, the editor of Deadspin, also deserves credit. His work has carried the illness forward for many of us. You know that line about how everyone who bought the Velvet Underground's first album ran out and started a band? It seems like everyone who found Deadspin in the beginning ran out and started a blog, or in my case, made a commitment to blogging. (Remember, I started way back in 2003, when they were still called "web logs.")

Not sure where this blabbing is coming from, although this blog is coming up on its six-month anniversary and is at 500 posts, so now seems as good a time as any to thank everyone, especially the family, friends and colleagues who click here and send a supportive note from time to time. Thanks again.

Back with more later. Send your thoughts to neatesager@yahoo.ca.

Great Job Neate - As you have probably seen the number of click throughs you get from our newsletter has continually grown with every week - a clear sign people enjoy your writing!

Hopefully the Gaels will provide you some more weeks of material from K-Town!
