CANUCKS, BERTUZZI AT ODDS

Short middle of the day stuff for your humpday:
  • If Todd Bertuzzi was such a great guy, why are the Vancouver Canucks so intent on distancing themselves from him as he prepares to face Steve Moore's civil suit? And to the meathead element among hockey fans: If what happened to Moore was just "part of the game," why are the Canucks and Bertuzzi so anxious not to appear to blame for what happened? Reading between the lines, it looks like both the player and team's lawyers have calculated the odds of Moore winning a big settlement. (Via James Mirtle.)
  • Here's the Tie Domi tribute that appeared here in July when the Leafs declined to pick up his option. Oh, and the Belinda Stronach rumours? Apparently she was dining with Domi and Brad Pitt, and took a shine to Domi? Please. Then again, she saw something in Peter MacKay, the guy Stephen Harper keeps around to make him look charismatic.
  • Associate Blogger Neil Acharya has an interview with Halifax author Stephen Kimber about his new novel, Reparations.
  • NHL previews are coming. Bear with us.
