BRAD JOHNSON STICKS IT TO DAN SNYDER

As you can imagine, yours truly had to be peeled off the ceiling after the Minnesota Vikings' 19-16 win over the Washington Redskins last night. (See the live blog.)

By the way, do you know what quarterback Brad Johnson wore on his way out of the stadium? His old Redskins jersey, just to remind people that spoiled-brat owner Daniel Snyder thought he was washed up a few years ago and ran him out of Washington. Nice touch.

Just to clarify a few points:

• Chester Taylor, for one night at least, showed he can handle the workload of being an every-down back: He had 34 touches for 131 total yards.
• Troy Williamson (four catches, 77 yards), who was hardly the most popular Viking coming into last night, finally made some important catches when it mattered. At least three of his four grabs came on third down, including that last one on the winning drive.
• Punter Chris Kluwe remains a work-in-progress. That's about all there is to say.
• The defence, which played well all pre-season, kept up with the bend-but-don't-break strategy. Washington had just 266 yards and was 4-for-13 on third downs. It also had only two plays over 25 yards. Most days, that's good enough to win in the NFL.

So basically, for 24 hours yours truly will be somewhat euphoric.
