Something only the really avid GG fans would have realized as they watched the games.

Davie Mason played less than two halves of football in the first three games. Against York and Mac he got most of the playing time. Look for that being the case the rest of the season, barring injury. His average is 5.72 yards per carry and should get eeven better, as the offense is just now staring to gel.

The GGs also did a lot of experimenting with different defensive looks in the first three games. Look for less experimenting now as they will stick with what has worked for them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16538424.post-70332121619791501462007-10-05T13:17:00.000-04:002007-10-05T13:17:00.000-04:00I must say, as a perfectly neutral observer, that ...I must say, as a perfectly neutral observer, that this "Offsides" program you mentioned offhand is a veritable cornucopia of sporting brilliance.Tyler Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05837449412824159700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16538424.post-7251100158402305932007-10-05T10:39:00.000-04:002007-10-05T10:39:00.000-04:00I say give the Gaels' fans a hardhat and a sledge ...I say give the Gaels' fans a hardhat and a sledge hammer and let them demolish the south side during half time tomorrow. It would save the taxpayer the $1.2 miilion dollars cost of doing it. Why is the city going to use taxpayers' money to do this when they are strongly considering letting a consortium of developers rebuild Lansdowne? Let the future owners/leasees do it at their cost.
Anyway, we Ottawa fans can sit , with our beer, in our the north side stands and keep dry , as I gather it may be a rainy day.

The GGs got off to a slow start this year , but seem to be gaining momentum moving towards the first place showdown next week. One wants to peak going into the playoffs.(not be like Mac last year, when they started off strongly and faded in the stretch). I think the Gee Gees will win by a good margin, hoepfully besting the 19 point spread that the Hawks beat Queen"s by last week.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
