So call it 7 extra hits per 100 plate appearances - McDonald does not add that much defensively, especially when you consider the only type of hit he takes away are singles anyway.

There is not a single baseball team that would take John McDonald over David Eckstein in any situation.Tyler Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05837449412824159700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16538424.post-37023719822842128242007-12-14T09:15:00.000-05:002007-12-14T09:15:00.000-05:00The Texans were more lucky than good. The only reason why they drafted Williams over Bush is that Bush was making outlandish contract demands, whereas they were able to get an agreement with Williams' agent before draft day. Lucky for them, as I think Bush is the most overhyped, overrated player in the NFL. In a League where Ray Lewis has been gravy training on past glories for years, that's saying something.Dennis Prousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01117649570711228161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16538424.post-26251913824307873302007-12-14T04:45:00.000-05:002007-12-14T04:45:00.000-05:00Love the video... the NHL needs to bring back this...Love the video... the NHL needs to bring back this kind of facial hair/promotional stunt to get noticed (George Parros has a good start already). Interesting link on Eckstein: I had a long argument with a friend today along the same lines (with him advocating Wilner's view), and came out of it undecided about which player will be better as a starting shortstop for the Jays. I think some of the power the Jays have following the leadoff spot could overcome Eckstein's propensity to only hit singles, and I'm not a huge fan of most of their other options for leading off, but losing McGlovin's defence would certainly suck as well...
P.S. Love the title: I'm definitely ready to check out Mike's Cereal Shack if he ever gets it off the ground.Andrew Bucholtzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156615450275929751noreply@blogger.com
